Well as for me and as of lately my favorite lure in both spring and all through summer as long as the water temps are 65 and above is my trusted zman safety pin style spinnerbait rigged with either a gulp curly tail swimming mullet or 4 inch paddletail with any color containing either or or both chartruse and gold the reason being for me is all 3 senses this bait attract smell hence the highly stinky gulp baits, the flash and visible colors in murky water hence the gold blade and chartruse and or gold, and the vibration hence the paddletail and vibration the gold blade gives because once the water hits about 65 degrees the visibility starts to decrease because the algae starts to grow in the water reducing visibility at least it does here in northeast fl probably not where your from in the gulf coast part of Florida or central or south Florida where the water stays clear all year long this bait is really only for murky or dirty water NOT clear water so to sum it up basically it works for me thanks for your input and all you do When rigging with these lures, what knot do you use

Furthermore, the very act of reeling against the drag when fighting a fish can introduce twists into the line

Use leaders to handle rock, docks, and clear water

Use as heavy a line as needed to stay on the bottom

I couldnt lean into them with all my weight like a glass rod, but with a simple rotation at the waist, the fish was on
