A beautiful solid and heavy silver plated butter dish with semi-domed lid and bun finial

Much crazing and a single hairline on the lid (please see picture)

In 1993 the firm was sold to Lenco Holdings although continued to operate under its original name

In 1879 the famous trumpet and banner mark was granted

Vintage 1940’s J&G Meakin Sky Blue Vegetable Tureen – Celeste Pattern Vanity Diameter of lid: 10Manufactured by J&G Meakin as part of the Glamour series during the 1940s this vintage lidded vegetable tureen is beautifully decorated in the Meakin Celeste range with sky blue colour highlighted by the presence of a scalloped rim with visible fluted surface along the verge as well as along the domed lid. This pattern design by J&G Meakin has long since been discontinued and is regarded today as a rare design. The tureen is stamped underneath Glamour
